The WMB Newsletter Editorial Board is a student-led team (9th - 12th graders) dedicated to spreading the word about musical happenings across the Williamsville district. From writing about Booster-sponsored events to showcasing the achievements of our talented teachers and students, the newsletter serves as a vibrant platform for sharing stories, celebrating successes, and building community through music.

To produce a high-quality, student-driven newsletter that highlights performances, achievements, behind-the-scenes moments, and the vibrant culture of music education in Williamsville. The newsletter is published bi-monthly starting in October and continues throughout the school year on the WMB website.
Each high school will elect one Editor-in-Chief from among the students on that school's newsletter editorial board to lead the team.
Each school will also elect one Deputy Editor from the same group to support the Editor-in-Chief in managing editorial tasks and team coordination.
Editors-in-Chief will oversee article assignments, review submissions, and ensure timely delivery.
A Booster Officer serving as Newsletter Advisor will provide feedback and guidance to maintain quality and alignment with the goals of the Williamsville Music Boosters..
All members are expected to contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive working environment.
All Newsletter Board members will:
Write or edit at least one article every other issue, including both text and photo content
Meet internal deadlines to ensure timely publication
Attend periodic planning meetings (virtual or in-person) to brainstorm and review progress
Designated roles include:
Digital Media Designer:
Flyer design using Canva
Webpage building using Google Sites
Instagram Account Manager(s):
One or two students will manage the newsletter Instagram account, including scheduling and posting
To maintain a professional standard and timely publication:
Late submissions will not be included in the current issue
They may be considered for the next issue, pending relevance and space
Editors-in-Chief will communicate deadlines clearly and follow up as needed
When joining the Newsletter Board, students agree to:
Uphold the standards and deadlines outlined above
Collaborate with peers and editors to ensure a polished final product
Embrace leadership, creativity, and community spirit
Self-track hours spent working on the newsletter for each issue throughout the school year, logged in the Booster's designated workspace
Receive a volunteer certificate from the Booster organization at the end of the school year, certifying their total volunteer hours
