A Summer Filled with Music
This summer, the Williamsville CSD Summer Music Program was filled with creativity, learning, and unforgettable moments. From rehearsals and performances to new friendships and exciting musical experiences, students worked together, challenged themselves, and discovered the joy that comes from making music as a community.
As we look back on the Summer Music Program, co-sponsored by the Williamsville CSD and Williamsville Music Boosters, we’re excited to celebrate the hard work, accomplishments, and memories that made this summer so special.
The Summer Music program grew by leaps and bounds, welcoming nearly 100 new young musicians to our summer offerings! Students had opportunities to participate in band, orchestra, and chorus ensembles, take private lessons, immerse themselves in Beginning Band Boot Camp, and experience our newest offering, Musical Theatre Camp.

Growing our Summer Orchestra: We expanded Summer Orchestra to include community members, culminating in a special performance featuring Williamsville South alumnus Marc Vredenburg on cello.
Introducing Musical Theatre Camp: Our newest program welcomed students entering grades 7 through 10 for a three-week theatre intensive, culminating in a final performance of MTI’s Broadway Junior Review: Raise Your Voice.
A record-setting Community Band: Summer Community Band welcomed an impressive 140 musicians, ranging from grade 10 through adult!
Private Lessons: Students had the opportunity to receive private instruction on all brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments, as well as piano and voice.
Beginning Band Boot Camp: More than 20 first-time musicians participated in Beginning Band Boot Camp as they prepared to join their school band programs as fourth graders this fall.

A special thank you to our Summer Music Coordinator Betsy Gengo, for all of the time, care, collaboration, and coordination that went into bringing this program to life. We are also incredibly grateful to the Williamsville Music Boosters for their continued support of our summer programming and to all of our summer music teachers for sharing their expertise, energy, and passion for music with our students. Your dedication helped create a meaningful and memorable summer for our young musicians!
From new beginnings to returning traditions, this summer was a wonderful celebration of music, community, and the continued growth of our young musicians. We are grateful to all of our students, families, teachers, volunteers, and supporters who helped make the Summer Music Program such a success!
